These utensils were developed by simultaneously seeking opposite extremes of possible forms. The first sketch below is an idea of utensils streamlined to the limits of functionality, the second shows utensils flared and bulging until they would barely fit a mouth, and the third is the initial idea of how to combine these two extremes into a single design. The fourth, final sketch, is the working drawing for this project.
