Poster (Massive Attack - Angel) - The main focus was to capture the feeling generated when listening to the music. The poster combines the evil female predator eye concept with the mechanical, pulsating and winding style of the music to conjure this evil, sinister, female, mechanical entity.
Produced to accompany both special edition and normal CD packaging. Designed to fold and slot behind the CD / pupil of the special edition packaging and fold inside the case of the normal packaging.
CD Case - Uses a close up of a glowing cats / preditors pupil with cogs behind it. The white and black background contrast shows the contradiction between the lyrics and the way the music makes you feel. The spine consists of red cogs.
The special edition packaging has been designed for collectors to be produced in small batch production.
Battery powered the product playes the CD via a rotating led clip in the middle of the pupil, with the start and stop button located above the CD disc slot. Taking on the form of a mechanical eye with claws and tentacles, the CD slots into the top of the eye where it poses as the pupil secured in place by an led. Made out of a rusty metal to give a mechanical feel.
