Product Page - Ajax Search - Ajax driven search box with a drop-down that updates on key-press. Fades-in when matches are returned, fades-out when the input box or the drop-down lose focus. Done using prototype and scriptaculous.
PDF Access Log - All PDFs hosted on the site have a JavaScript embedded that submits data to the server to keep a log on the usage of the PDF files.
Theme Selection - Through complete separation of markup and style the whole site is themeable. However, the option to switch themes isn't given to visitors of the website.
Visitor Lead Report - The company advertises heavily on Globalspec. I created a number of lead reports that pulls the data from Globalspec's member area and makes it available to the company's sales staff.
PDF Download - A modal box to download PDF documents such as catalogs, assembly instructions, product certificates and others. Users can choose to download the complete PDF or just a page range.
Product Specification Search - An online catalog viewer powered by prototype and scriptaculous. The above search makes an Ajax call to query a product database. Catalog pages are FlashPaper documents.
Catalog Viewer - An slide-out catalog panel lists all available catalogs. The left wheel permits page navigation (first, last, next, previous). A page number can also be typed into the page number field to jump to a specific page.
Contact From - Within this catalog viewer it is possible to submit an inquiry to the company's headquarters or any field sales office. Ajax-driven submission.
Catalog Download - A user can download the catalog he or she is viewing as a PDF with the option to save the complete document or just a page range.
