Total alterations on this garment: add width to chest measurement, reshape sleeves, adjust center front curve. Very few seams were left untouched on this piece!

This overcoat was prototyped out by Research and Design first {pictured}. Adjustments were made to design by the time I constructed the coat {see next two pictures}.

This is a shot of the pocket opening. There was no pocket bag by design, just a clever opening through which the man can reach into his jacket or coat pocket. Yet another brilliantly practical 18th century design feature!
