Theme: Shadows of the past
After researching the town of Nynashamn's past, our team discovered that a forest used to be where the parking lot now lay. Now, only three trees are left in this now flat area which is used only for short transitional activity. Gobos were used to project foliage patterns on the parking lot ground giving the illusion that they are shadows of the trees that once stood there.
We also found many old pictures from the town's heyday as a manufacturing hub where the residents traveled on bicycles in masses. This inspired us to light the shopping cart stations blue to make them stand out as social points. The former glare of the lighting of these stations was minimized by covering the glass with diffusing material onto which silhouettes of abstracted bicycle shadows were painted.
