M&S YCN picnic brief. The brief was to create a new picnic range for M&S that has everything you need to enjoy a picnic included in the box. My idea was to create one aimed at families, primarily ones with young children. I went for a jungle theme tried to come up with a picnic box that was interactive to keep the children entertained. That's where the mask box idea came from. The brief was to remind consumers that Lego products are superior than the other cheaper competitor brands out there. We were asked to do this in a way that did not acknowledge the competitor brands and simply try to remind the consumer about Lego’s quality and ethic. I decided to focus mine on family tradition and to establish the tradition of passing Lego down the family. Pass down your Lego to help kick start someone's Lego collection and hopefully they will then stay loyal to the brand as they get older. While family tradition was my aspect, I also wanted Lego to be brought into the lives of the modern family. Families are no longer just a family of 4 with a cat and dog. Families consist of single parents, same sex parents and the like. Acknowledging this already sets Lego apart from the competitor. This is where my poster campaign comes in. The slogan being ‘Keep it in the family’. The modern family.
