INFORGRAPHICS - Zone 10, a gardening magazine, was my final thesis for MA Publications design at the University of Baltimore. As the Art Director, I developed a clear map representing the most suitable areas for tropical gardening in the U.S. I used warm colors for the logo, layout, and cover design.
Zone 10 itself is one of the warmest of 11 different climatic zones in the USA.
INFORGRAPHICS - This illustration appeared in an article published in the April 05 issue of Chesapeake Life magazine, an Alter Communications publication.
Poplar Island was once 1200 acres in the Chesapeake Bay but because of a steady rise of sea level, only 5 acres remain. A huge construction is underway to reclaim the island which was once a rustic retreat for U.S. presidents.
My map illustration tells the story about Poplar Island: Before, now and what it will be in the future. The yellow shading shows how big the island was 150 years ago, the blue shows how small it is today and the dotted lines indicate a plan to reconstruct the island and prevent it from disappearing entirely.
