sketch - based on a friend's poem, this is where the process starts
First "knot" - Cricket legs didn't lend themselves to the same process I've used previously, so I simplified... and left the glasses alone as an object in the field
construction lines - With the cricket and glasses outline in red, I set about figuring the general feel of the background knot work
background knots - developed sans foreground so it could be its own thing
final composite knot - combined fore- and background. The background simplified a bit (branches ended instead of continuing behind) to not overly complicate the foreground

Quilt - My mother in law quilted the final design as a present... I had made the offhand comment that we should do a collaboration, and she took it serious!
