The Comb Table
The Comb Table - Themes of repetition, contrast, and broken symmetry provided the starting point for the design of this piece. The hollow top, designed to provide storage, is formed from 20 separate mitred frames, which are offset to create a comb effect at either end. The frames are constructed alternately in American and European oak, and finished respectively in liming wax, and an oil and wax finish, to augment the subtle differences in colour between the two timbers.
