A small 'carbon neutral' workshop held in National University of Singapore in 2010. The brief was to design an extension to the existing School of Design and Environment in NUS.
Sited on a small, low hill right beside the existing blocks, the lack of close and inter-related resource proximity to student spaces in the existing school was a key consideration.
The design strategy was based on the idea of the relationship between the 'served' (student spaces) and the 'server' (resource spaces i.e. library, info centre, computer labs. Green, daylighting, and natural ventilation were also considered during the early design process.
Calculations of spatial relationships.
Exploded axonometric with system details.
