Designing for 'Tomorrows Workplace' - Working from home.
Open = Working
Closed = Living
When open it provides a 'cocoon' for the worker, creating a space to concentrate and focus, it also has enabling technology that allows them to virtually socialise with either colleagues or other home workers.
When it is time for work to end, it can be closed. The design allows the work to be shut away without being 'put' away, meaning the user can return to their work as they left it the time before. Once closed the desk blends into the home environment, and allows the worker to mentally and physically leave work and begin life.
