Hospital Entrance Elevator Lobby - Wayfinding concepts are being developed to strengthen building identity and function. This large multi-building complex requires creating recognizable features to aid visitors and staff in wayfinding. Key areas focused along primary and secondary circulation pathways will be utilized as galleries for display, art or graphics.

These areas will provide interior wayfinding/landmark opportunities to create areas of positive distraction for patients and visitors in support of evidence-based design principals.

Branding & Environmental Graphics for Fort Bliss Military Hospital, El Paso, TX

I created these icons concepts to correspond to the various clinics and buildings of the hospital. They were then adapted into environmental graphics.

This space lends itself to graphic display development to foster community, communication, history and sense of place.

The practice of navigating by the stars is as old as antiquity. Using the desert sky or canopy as an inspiration, the project interiors can utilize lighting at the ceiling. This will define key way finding points and create cues which take advantage of the wide open visual planes. Ceiling and floor planes will be developed with selective color (blooming desert flowers) and light (stars, sun) to connect and orient visitors. A key building component is based on the traditional pueblo kiva (circular and ceremonial form indigenous to the area), to provide a shared community space for celebration and connection.
