BACKPACKING WATER FILTER SYSTEM
Filter
An intake hose and a manual rotational crank are used to push water through the filter element. Flip the handle over the top and nest it in the cap to turn the internal gears. The ceramic filter with the carbon core can be brushed clean repeatedly, and its longevity makes it economical over time. The carbon core removes many chemicals, herbicides, and pesticides.
The filter utilizes leverage and beveled gears for mechanical advantage. The lever amplifies the input force while the gear ratio amplifies the input torque by performing three piston cycles per crank revolution.
Bottle
A simple way to enable water filtration and purification on the go, this bottle is especially useful on day hikes while camping. Modeled after a coffee press, once the interior bottle has been pressed into the outer bottle and the lid screwed on, the three ultraviolet lighting strips activate.
