HP Z 3D CAMERA
THE HP Z 3D CAMERA IS A PERIPHERAL 3D/2D CAPTURE DEVICE THAT IS AN EVOLUTION OF THE HP SPROUT FAMILY. THE DESIGN INTENT IS MEANT TO EVOKE A DECONSTRUCTED SPROUT DESIGN WHILE ALSO VISUALLY FEELING LIKE A MODERN LAMP.
THE PERIPHERAL ATTACHES TO THE BACK OF ANY MONITOR THROUGH A MAGNETIC BADGE, WHILE MINIMAL ANGLE ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE ACHIEVED VIA THE BALL JOINT AT THE BASE.
A CRITICAL ASPECT TO FULFILLING THE “LAMP” AESTHETIC, WHILE STILL DESIGNING A ROBUST FORM, WAS THE NEED FOR MORE AUTHENTIC MATERIALS IN ITS CONSTRUCTION. UTILIZING ALUMINUM FOR THE NECK, ALLOWED FOR AN ELEGANT BALANCE BETWEEN SIMPLICITY AND STRENGTH. THE NECK IS FABRICATED THROUGH A STAMPING PROCESS, WHICH IS THEN BENT AND FINALLY ANODIZED IN BLACK.
