Clinic Visits - We visited clinics to observe the activities associated with patients, we also conducted silent patient shadowing . We conducted 70 Contextual Inquiries across India. Female patients were interviewed by female moderators. We inquired about: information needs, information gaps, medication, management, Socio-cultural issues, stigma, role of the ecosystem including family, friends, clinics, NGOs, pharmacy etc. Mobile phone usage, etc
Healthcare IVRS for Non-Tech-Savvy Users - We designed an IVRS-based solution for a low-resource setting, to ameliorate the problems of People living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA). The IVRS consists of two menus- one which is a pill-time reminder, two which assists people with their medication and health related queries.
Training users on IVRS - We conducted usability tests on IVRS. The first time IVRS users were trained on a similar system which contained the same menu style and choosing options. To train the users on abstraction, analogy of fruits and flowers was used. This training on abstraction considerably helped the low-literate users in using the IVRS. The users were again trained on the actual system before conducting the usability tests.

This project was undertaken at IDC, IITB. This project aims at investigating information gaps, problems and opportunities for design and technology intervention to support HIV treatment. We visited several cities across the country, discussed problems with counsellors, doctors. We conducted Contextual inquiries with people living with HIV, diary studies, technology try outs and home visits. After analysing the data from these contextual inquiries, we came up with the solution- Interactive Voice Response System designed for low- literate audience. This system consists to 2 modules- pill time reminder and health query module(this includes information about medication, general info about HIV and acts like a first aid box for patients having health problems.)
