For the short duration of the workshop, we made thermocol moulds, 3 of which lasted just about enough for us to make 2 bar walls. We took advantage of the draft angle that such a mould provided us, making the snow easier to slide out.

Snow Bar - Care for a beer?

This project was the result of a 5 day Snow workshop at ECAL Lausanne, in collaboration with students from National institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

Group members: Marie-Anne le Corre, Mickaël Dejean, Mélissa Meylan, Shivani Saran.

Every group had been given an inspiration, and ours was Eskimos.
We formed our context around winter games and a requirement for a resting place / bar on the location. As we saw it, a good way seemed to be to make it out of the indigenous and easily available material - snow!

Our design was the mould of a brick that can create a wall to stack bottles in, keep them (obviously!) cold and provide a top for serving. Essentially, it serves as a bar.
