Hershey, History of Chocolate

Milton Hershey developed the first Hershey chocolate bar in 1900. During
World War II, he helped to support war efforts by supplying troops with his
Hershey Ration D Bars, a 4 oz. bar of “emergency” chocolate. Again, chocolate
proves to be a nourishing, healthy form of energy. Franklin Gothic is the
typeface used in this poster, developed by Morris Benton in 1902. Franklin
Gothic was America’s first traditional san serif typeface.
