This was the moodboard.
Paper and cloth explorations for the surface. Emboidery and layering of different fabrics was explored.
Taking inspiration from brocades, paper concepts and cloth samples were developed for the surface treatment.
Artwork with different treatment applied on the moitf of flower taken from the brocades.
For my first product I made a table runner with four table mats for a square table.
These are some of the close up shots of the table runner showing the usage of the same.
The table runner was screen printed by using five screens. And the texture in the background was created with the help of a stencil.
My second product was a shot skirt. The print on the skirt is a result of impressions taken with the help of thermocol blocks using fabric paint.

Advanced Print Design

The objective of this course was to develope a placement print, keeping in mind the product. The print was to come from a moodboard and florals from traditional indian textiles and other crafts. I chose to work with botanical flowers for my first product which was a table runner. And for my second product which was a skirt I chose brocades from Banaras to take inspiration from.
