A minimalist wooden chair designed by Sergio Studer for swiss furniture brand numerat.
Based on the idea of "the maximum possible level of minimisation" the chair's design is inspired by the natural structure of trees, where thin branches are connected to each other by reinforced and thicker joints. Just how nature tends to reduce material and keep it only where it's needed, here reduction respects the requirements and answers to the constrains of a wooden chair. Highly suitable for contemporary interiors with ever constricting space, the chair's reduction of size and material provides significant spacial advantages as well as an enriched aesthetics.
The chair is produced in the northeast area of Italy. It is a meeting of the state-of-the-art technology with traditional craftsmanship. The finishing and the coating are done in our own workshop in Zurich.
