Oregon Manifest: Campus MiniVelo
In the summer of 2011, as part of a seven person team, I helped design and built a concept utility commuter bike for the Oregon Manifest competition. It was a very unique college experience working so closely with a diverse design team. We took first place at the event, and later won the IDSA IDEA Gold award for the design.
As the resident bike nerd on the team, my roles were varied. The telescoping kickstand and interchangeable accessory mounting system were two of my main designs, but I helped develop many of the other concepts and designs as well. I aided with the final design and CAD for the 3D printed green plastic frame case.
I was one of the lead prototypers and fabricators in the process. It was also my duty to spec, source, and modify the stock bicycle component we used to make the bike fully functional.
