Nimble is the result of a 2 year project called “FASCINATIONS 2050”. The project was managed my a German aviation think tank, Bauhaus Luftfahrt and funded by Airbus, with participation from other interested parties such as BMW, Siemens and Bombardier. The project was a competition between Product Design Engineering students from Glasgow School of Art, and students of Industrial Design at The Technical University of Munich. It comprised of 3 phases, with presentations to the industry after each phase, feedback from the presentations was worked into the project, and a down selection was made at the end of each phase. The 4 best projects were presented to all the participants at an event in Munich in September 2014.
