Multi Use Mid Rise
Design a mid-to-high rise in Chicago, Illinois that is a mixed use space of retail and residential space. By exploring the pattern of public versus private areas at the small scale of a single family unit to that of the entire complex as a whole, this building expresses how these regular patterns can create irregular spaces. The use of a screen to portray this pattern also allows various amounts of light to enter a space in relation to the activity in the space and where it is located in the building as a whole.
