Best Brews curriculum strategy
When Starwood Resorts rolled out a new strategy for the hundreds of Four Points by Sheraton locations around the world, the focus was on craft brews in all of its bars and restaurants. Working with hospitality training company WineQuest, I developed a flexible curriculum that taught Four Points servers, bartenders, and managers everything they needed to know about beer. Courses covered everything from history and production to storage, styles, and flavor. Served online, the courses were designed for busy servers on a tight schedule. Modules were short and specific, with quizzes scattered throughout to aid information retention. Guest-facing content also included a user-friendly beer menu. Using WineQuest’s signature “progressive” format, I developed a flexible menu that’s easy to navigate for beer beginners and experts alike. The result? Better beer sales, more informed servers, and happier guests.
