ALP is unique solution to a problem thats ubiquitous in most of the target market (Northern United States). The product has been designed to efficiently break, and enable removal of, sheet ice formations on streets, pavements and public plazas.
Traditional methods of sheet ice removal feature pick-axe wielding crews, to physically break the ice into manageable sized chunks, or antifreeze agents to melt ice to water. One is time consuming, the other leaves lasting effects on the immediate environment.
ALP is the world's first all mechanical ice breaking device designed for commercial and community use. It is modeled along the lines of the ubiquitous lawn mower and the familiar layout affords an intuitive user experience.
The ice breaker has been designed and engineered from scratch and features a lightweight tubular steel chassis which handles dynamic loads very well.
The unit is powered by a 6hp Honda gasoline engine that drives a transmission that's been developed grounds-up. The 5 liter fuel tank is good for about 2 hours of continuous use.
