Quickshaw- Public Waste-management System - Designed for urban and semi-urban areas of Gujarat with high population density. It comprises two Roto-moulded tilt bins, totalling 600 liters of usable volume, mounted on an off-the-shelf cycle-rickshaw chassis. The footprint of such a vehicle allows it to negotiate the narrow lanes of the areas it is designed to operate in. The configuration is basic, and designed to be easily copied and manufactured by local vendors using low-cost, low-tech tooling.
Quickshaw- Public Waste-management System - An easy winding winch & pulley mechanism allows the two bins to tilt independently. The mechanism has been specially designed to allow the operators, many of whom are women working well into their 7th month of pregnancy, to lift over 125 kgs of bin weight with the minimum possible effort. The tilting mechanism doesn't depend on any other power except that of the operator.
