This course was conducted by Victor Vina
[interaction designer], to create an Indian inspired product with appropriate use of sensors. The three poles were a contemporary perspective on Indian musical instruments, crafted with both traditional and modern technologies.
I was responsible for the fabrication and the hardware of the project while the software component was handled by another member of the team.
The flute was of touch sensor. The stringed instrument used a proximity sensor which detected the hand and changed the tune of a string accordingly. The percussion was fitted with a piezo sensor which detected pressure
and created a digital sound.
this project gave me a huge understanding of bamboo as a material and interactive design.
