The Torus: Pencil Sharpener
Despite the advent of the propelling pencil there will always be a market for traditional pencils and their associated qualities - the tactile pleasure; the smell; the ritual of sharpening... The Torus is a doughnut-shaped pencil sharpener that opens up new possibilities of how the hand interacts with this classic stationery. Traditionally it has always been operated by gripping it between fingers; but the Torus is shaped to fit the entire hand comfortably. It can also be held like an artist's palette. The rubber grip provides better handling, and the rest of the shape consist of durable clear plastic casing to store shavings.
