Dissertation: Form Follows Honesty
This dissertation is about the value of honesty in today’s design over a number of issues. Honesty is a trait that is not unfamiliar to us – preached by parents and in school since young, it is a positive characteristic that we appreciate and admire mutually. Honesty also appears across various design disciplines, and as mentioned by German designer Dieter Rams, it is one of the attributes that made a good design. This 10,000-word study evaluates honesty across a range of design-related aspects, from product to process, and hoped to raise awareness about this easily-overlooked yet important feature that could affect the responsibility of design in the future.
