With less than 6 weeks of design and development time, I dove headfirst into what interface really aligns with a conversational mental model. I realised a clear distinction between chats that are personal( whatsapp, imessage, telegram etc.) all had the speech bubbles on either side of the screen, whereas professional chat based apps like google chat, slack or even ChatGPT have all speech bubbles aligned vertically - making them feel almost like a clinical feed. The primary layout of Ferma was designed to be prompt first, while encouraging the user to explore a given conversation deeply or switch to a new topic. A complex pricing strategy based on data modules was visualised in a coherent and simple design, helping users figure out what suits their workflow the best at any time.
A dark, minimal and polished UI theme along with the tone of voice for the AI assistant was established that reflected the brand strongly. Ferma is a groundbreaking AI-powered conversational platform specifically tailored for professionals across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries. It is designed to provide rapid and accurate answers to any life sciences question, elevating decision-making processes and enhancing efficiency for individuals and organizations across life sciences.
