SPACES is an interpretation of a modern contemporary furniture to suit the lifestyle of the people today.
It is a platform specially designed for fun-loving families, encouraging the users to define their own living space for work, play and chill.
Its contemporary form is inspired by the art of basketry, where the cushions on the furniture looks like the basic weaving pattern of a basket.
Belian (a wood native to Sarawak) blocks were also used in the platform and they represent the “Culture & Heritage” of Sarawak. Users can configure and shift the cushions and little surfaces to their own comfort and preferences.
This act of shifting, unknowingly, reflects the diminishing rich heritage and culture in Sarawak, which is unfortunately caused by human activities to satisfy our own comfort and benefits.
