National Society of Black Engineers-Report
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Summer Engineering Experiences for Kids (SEEK) program is a 3-week (105 hours) summer enrichment experience for approximately 3,500 elementary students across 14 cities with college students and engineering professionals serving in leadership and teaching roles at each site.
During the summer 2016 program, 404 college student mentors and engineering
professionals led science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curricula activities for elementary students. The program is designed to be a fun and engaging STEM education experience to enhance students’ science and
engineering knowledge. It is also a way for mentors and engineering professionals
to give back to children and communities.
