This project was the culmination of a six week investigation into the history of Market Square in Providence, Rhode Island. The space itself is interesting because it was considered the center of providence from the late eighteenth century up until 1950, and now it is a vast expanse of empty space at the foot of College Hill. I wanted to draw attention to the previous function of the space by memorializing the idea of the market. Spring 2011.
