ANU Rugged is an award winning line of power generation, storage, and communication equipment for outdoor professionals, field scientists, and nomadic creatives. Power is created by harnessing energy from the forest, through fire and gravitational potential energy, stored in a bandolier of batteries, and used to power the essentials from remote locations. Energy is transmitted through electronic textiles using magnetic power connectors housed in side-release buckles.
ANU Rugged has been awarded Red Dot Winner Award and is published within the yearbook, online exhibition, and on display in the Red Dot Design Museum Singapore. Honorable Mention Prize at the 2017 European Product Design Awards in Sustainable Living/Environmental Preservation/Alternative Energy Source Equipment. IDA Bronze Award in Sustainable Living/Environmental Preservation/Alternative Energy Source Equipment.
