An update on a previous design, this palm rest incorporates many of the ideas from the previous one while adding more usability for the shooter.
The design idea came from my Rifle Coach and myself after many hours of brainstorming. The impovements over the previous design include a shorter overall height, an integrated handstop, a much simpler design, and much more flexibility how it is positioned. One of the requirements for this build was that it had to be designed to be made with minimal tools, and pretty much every part can be made in a minimal machine shop.
My favorite part of this design, however, is the integrated handstop. This part was my idea and was made to help the shooter be quicker during changeover and allow him to carry less gear than he currently does. This is a design completely unique to my design and one that I am currently trying to get manufactured and sold.
