The objective of the new 2023 Citröen DS23 is improving habitability and aerodynamics of the origianal without compromising the dynamics provided by its centre-engine layout.
The Citroen DS23 is one of the most innovative automotive designs of all times, it was a FWD car, with an inline-4 engine placed longitudinally behind the front axis.
In the proposed Citröen DS23 the cabin is moved forward but the powertrain layout wouln´t have to be modified, as the engine is now placed in Parallel with the driver´s legs; therefore the habitability would increase as well as the aerodynamics of the car but keeping the central engine layout and therefore being able to provide a 50:50 weight distribution with perfect car dynamics.
As for the Head and Rear Lamps in the proposed design, they are inspired by the modern Citröen DS logo, so they would be an important part of the DS design language.
