Unwall is centered on the idea that technology should remove barriers from the world that surrounds us. The beauty of the natural world is most often obstructed by the material structures designed to shelter and contain our lives. Rarely if ever are those structures beautiful in comparison to the natural environment they exist within. With high-definition exterior cameras, high-density LED strips (or fabric) and some basic programming, Unwall can make walls invisible. I also considered retail applications for show rooms and consumer goods "brick and mortars." With the addition of RFID tags and sensors the concept can expand to dramatically enhance an in-store shopping experience. In all applications this is an opportunity to turn an entire wall into a programmable surface capable of displaying everything from video to a GUI extension with user driven feedback. - This was a conceptual project for a Labs project.
