VERTICAL & ROTATIONAL ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM
A compact and complex mechanism used for adjusting the height and rotational orientation of the mounted equipment. The post mechanism is big and robust in order to withstand sustained loading on all axes. It allows for a wide range of height adjustment with the option for a suspension for specific applications. The crown (upper block mechanism) houses over 125 unique parts that make up the 'bells & whistles' of this unit. It's here where a complex combination of levers, springs, bushings, actuation cables and linkages engage and disengage with gas springs and other actuators.
These images show the portion of the project that I was responsible for in a project involving four other design engineers and an industrial engineer. The team worked together addressing and ironing out integration issues as each component of the project had their own very challenging requirements - let alone the interfacing challenges.
