Two 11.5 tonne rudders needed to be shipped to the east coast to be stored until required. The crates had to be robust enough to protect this high value piece of equipment from being damaged during transport, from the weather and to keep the critters out as it was likely going to sit on a wharf for the next ~10 years or so. We decided to attach the rigging gear directly to the rudder for when it was being lifted/moved. I worked with the joinery shop to execute the complex curvature for the sleepers that the rudder would nest into.
