External Enclosure Device
I was approached by an electrical engineering company with the request to develop the company's enclosure that houses their wireless device and related components. Not only did this enclosure need to house the electrical components but it needed to piggy-back onto a variety of existing platforms that it would interface with. The challenge was to strike a balance between something unique and identifiable, but subtle enough to blend with the various platforms.
Several prototypes were printed to confirm fit and function and once they were determined to be correct production units were sourced from an overseas supplier. This unit is currently being sold to a variety of end users. UPDATE - Like many projects where the original design requirements morph over time due to industry feedback and other requirements coming to light this unit has undergone a major revision and has been greatly simplified, is much more compact and easier to mount onto other devices and much more cost effective.
