Tip the Crates
The project allowed for the investigation of whether it is possible to translate non-touchscreen problems for touchscreen applications and meet requirements for effective mobile user interface design. Requirements were based on questions highlighted by Dehlinger and Dixon, as well as Shneiderman’s Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design. The questions target aspects such as accessibility and developing for different-sized devices.
The project was successful as it was possible to implement an Android application and meet many requirements for effective mobile design. This demonstrates progress towards the question of whether all problems can be captured in touchscreen applications. The application was improved in line with third-party feedback and was then sufficient for release through the Play Store.
