The Seattle Community Court is one of many community courts that are evolving a way of “breaking the cycle” of repeat non-violent offenders, reducing recitivism as well as economic costs to society. A combination of community service and getting these offenders in touch with needed social services, such as chemical dependency treatment and employment services, has proven successful.
