Christine One
Christine One was all about accessibility and aging-in-place. Every last detail was analyzed to fit the following criteria: open plan, focus on counter-height accessibility and lots of worktop space, plenty of light, and lasting utility into the coming years for a retired couple.
I used after-market cabinet organizer and accessibility inserts, and I also designed and built several custom items myself, including the three-drawer harvest table (built to match the cabinetry), and the pull-out pantry shelves in the built-in closet. All custom slide-out shelves and drawers are heavy duty and rated for upto 150# (I love Blum!) for safety. No worries loading them up and the soft close slides work like butter.
As for sustainability, I installed energy efficient LED fixtures for the majority of lighting, including in the bespoke crown moulding light boxes and recessed fixtures. The custom pieces were a mix of new and recycled materials from Habitat for Humanity Restore.
