Repairable Kettle

This was a design project for the RSA student awards in 2013. It was for the Change Makers brief which was to design a product that encouraged people to reduce waste. I designed this kettle so that the heating element (essentially the part most likely to break) can easily be removed without tools and replaced with a new one, so that the majority of the material in the kettle can be reused. Removing the element part also allows the rest of the kettle to be easily cleaned so can be kept for longer. The design of the kettle is meant to be striking and a design that will last so that people will be encouraged to keep it due to it being a good design.
