Issue 438 of The Sun magazine was the first and only in its nearly 40-year history to be printed in full color — at least, in one signature. This glorious exception was made to accommodate reproductions of the lushly monochromatic artwork of artist Ran Ortner. The thin vertical lines that appear in the painting are actually the physical edges of the canvases; the image is a triptych.
