FuturArc Prize - Triangular Mutualism

Our design brings a totally new way of living for people on Kampung Pulo riverbank. The waterfront has been well developed into a place where people really live alongside river. Their individual activities rely on river water, such as fish farming, and rain water, such as washing, flushing toilets, and watering plants. Their communal activities which are done on open spaces and village hall are also located by the riverside, with great view towards the river. Each one of these houses harvests their own rainwater and treats their own waste water. The sluice gate near the end of the village functions as a great trash filter to clean the river and needs cooperation between people to operate, creating interaction and maintaining good relationship.

Clean water, healthy waste treatment, and good cooperation between the people. All these things will lead the triangular connection between human – water – human back to its former condition, where all benefits from the mutual symbiotic.
