Bus Info Kiosk - for Dundee, Scotland (Design Ethnography, Product & UX Design)

This was a team project I worked on as a student of MSc Design Ethnography at University of Dundee during 2009-10.

After an ethnographic research into the bus information kiosk in Dundee which revealed insights about specific issues, we conducted Interviews, Focus Groups & Co-design activities, with users & non-users of public buses. We created Quick & Dirty Prototypes of improved & re-designed bus info kiosk (physical product & user interface task-flows for the touch screen). We tested it with bus users & non-users. The new design catered to people on wheelchairs.

With the prototype of the new design, people could easily find information such as what bus to take, where to get off the bus, bus route map & where to board the bus from, based on their current location & 'From' & 'To' places. They could even choose to pay & print the map with the information.
