Underneath the rail line at night shows that up-lighting the area can create an intimate environment even in a downtown context after sundown. The company's catering taco stand was proposed to be relocated closer to the street corner to attract nearby pedestrians with its fresh aroma. Benches, standing tables and bars were implemented to suggest that the duration of dining within the area is not to be extensive. Also, more open space would allow that area to be diversely used for other functions.

Homeboy Industries

The business and property of Homeboy Industries were expanding their borders. This project targeted the adjacent pedestrian street traffic while increasing the company's on-site crop yield that is used in their restaurant and cafe. Daytime and nighttime aspects were considered to cater to the site's proximity to Dodger Staduim, China Town, as well as one of the rail lines directly above the property. Street conditions were analyzed in order alleviate the egress and ingress around the site.
