The Bread Bed

Design and consultation for a Boston University School of Management CORE project. The group wanted to create a home bread proofing box and I worked with them to create the Bread Bed. Many bakers prefer to proof bread dough in a humidity and temperature controlled environment to allow the dough to rise prior to baking. These images show a conceptual design of this product. Temperature control would be achieved by a heating element and humidity control would be achieved using a system similar those used in cigar humidors. Looking back at this project, I believe an important improvement would be to include digital temperature and humidity readouts visible on the outer shell of the Bread Bed.
