Keurig Widget

The purpose of this project was to rapid prototype a promotional widget for a company of our choice. Myself and three other students designed a miniaturized version of a Keurig single cup brewing machine, intended to be used as a desk stationary. We also designed a piece similar to a K-cup that could hold an eraser. The first iteration of the design was rapid prototyped using an FDM 3D printer. This prototype was sent to Keurig and a team of managers critiqued the widget and sent back improvement ideas.

The second iteration of the design is shown in the renderings. We utilized extra space in the back to have extra draws for storing items and hollowed out the sides so more than one writing utensil could be stored. These changes made the widget more useful overall and cut down on the amount of material used.
