8. Space Ghost: Crucible by Alex Ross

Airbrushed on: December 2002
Type of Piece: Airbrush Commission
Role: Airbrush Artist
Media: Airbrush using Createx Colors

This design was based of Alex Ross’ Space Ghost comic book cover Crucible (http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Space_Ghost_Vol_1_1). The customer asked me to airbrush a space ghost design on the back of his dress shirt for a formal event. This was my first realistic piece; all my other airbrushed items are mainly basic cartoon characters that do not require much shading. The customer was very satisfied and I did not make profit off of Alex Crosses design. I cannot express how much appreciation I have for Mr. Cross creating this piece. It forced me out of my comfort zone and had me use various shades of color for the skin tones, blue glow, and background.
